MC Pressure is one third of the hottest hip-hop act in the country, The Hilltop Hoods. The crew, originally from Adelaide, have toured all over the world with everyone from Public Enemy to Cypress Hill and had their last two albums go platinum along the way! We caught up with Pressure to get his thoughts on the urban scene and how it feels to be nominated for best hip-hop group and best hip-hop single at this year's Urban Music Awards.

Which urban music artists have had the biggest influence on your work?
My main influence was 90's hip hop like Organized Konfusion, Nas, King Sun etc.

Who's coming out with the most exciting sound on the scene right now?
Funkoars

Which other urban artist would you most like to work with and why?
Brother Ali, the mans got the maddest flow in the game.

Just how un-urban is Keith Urban?
More than most 'urban artists', he's an urban house hold name.

Do you consciously write 'urban music' or is it just your natural sound?
I make hip hop, and yes its a deliberate act to offend as many people as possible.

What's more important, awards voted for by the public or big money prizes?!
Big Money Prizes off course, cant believe I aint won lottery yet....

How do you think the Australian urban scene compares with the UK or the USA?
It's easily just as urban as the two above.
