Hi all, can it get any busier, or more exciting, in sport at the moment?
The Olympic Swim Trials were sensational. Libby, Emily, Sophie and many, many more have put the world on notice.
Let's see what the Americans can offer when their Olympic trials come around.
I agree with those offering advice to our world record breakers Steph Rice and Eamon Sullivan, focus on August, then reap the financial rewards they so richly deserve.
I hope they both win Gold and both live the fairytale after Beijing.
I've often argued swimming requires a very special athlete. The highs are incredible but the journey is torturous, the early mornings, the training sessions, the endless black line all done without the fanfare and adulation (and in many cases, the monetary rewards) our footballers enjoy.
So to our entire swim team, and let me be a little parochial more than half the squad are Queenslanders, I wish them the greatest of success.
The footy has been great.
More than 80,000 at the Lions/Collingwood - Broncos/Cowboys matches in Brisbane over the weekend.
It was a crucial win for the Lions it's very early days but maybe the finals' drought, which has lasted three seasons will break this winter and the Broncos are the only unbeaten team in the NRL after three rounds.
It was amazing on Friday afternoon, I had calls from all my punting mates asking why the Broncos had been big drifters in the betting.
The word that Darren Lockyer was going to be a late withdrawl spread like wildfire plenty of money went on backing the Cowboys and they all lost.
The Cowboys need to turn their form around and fast.
That's all for now - talk again soon - Pat
