A Size 2 is Not Fat!
Nelson weighs in on the media's criticism of Jennifer Love Hewitt's 'curvy figure' and asks where do you weigh in on all this?

Jennifer Love Hewitt has come out swinging in defense of her curvy figure that has been thrust into recent headlines. "A size 2 is not fat! And being a size 0 doesn't make you beautiful," she rightfully contends. I've met Love and I can tell you, she's miniscule! Unflattering camera angles, lighting and just plain invasive photography have all contributed to the much ado about very little. Good for her for being forthright with comments like, "To all girls with butts, boob, hips and a waist, put on a bikini! Put it on and stay strong!"

I don't understand the websites and bloggers who feel compelled to be so mean all the time. Witty sarcasm is one thing, cruel taunting is another. No wonder celebrities are wary of the media. Don't these nasty bloggers and photogs have any trouble sleeping at night? They don't! They actually hide behind their First Amendment right to free speech as an excuse to vent some of their own obvious insecurities and inferiority complexes. Even TMZ, which can be incredibly informative with legal updates in celebrity related cases, frequently crosses the line with their cruel editorials.

Scarlett Johansson is sticking up for herself, too. US WEEKLY magazine's new cover story suggests that ScarJo has had rhinoplasty by putting two side by side pictures of her with the headline "Did they or didn't they?" Then inside, the article has guest "experts" weigh in with their opinions. She's always vehemently denied having any surgical alterations. With a naturally bodacious body like hers, why would she lie about having work done? "I have always been straightforward with the press regarding my body image," she says. Usually when a star goes through a nose job, they pass it off as a "deviated septum" or "fix from a surfing accident." Johansson's reportedly planning on legal action against the magazine and I applaud her resolve.

From the sublime to the ridiculous, Tara Reid has been making headlines Down Under with allegations of her absurd expectations for enormous personal appearance fees. When no one bit, she reportedly dropped her cost from $30,000 to $3,500. That's quite a markdown. She must have worked in the retail business at some point. Maybe she should contact CNN. Insiders are saying they've had great difficulty booking A-list'ers for their "All Star Heroes" event and are having to resort to looking for others than the usual suspects like Brangelina & Clooney. Maybe Brad would have been more willing to accept the invitation if Larry King hadn't brought up Jennifer Aniston in their interview together when Brad was there expressly to talk about his heroic work in Katrina-ravaged New Orleans.

Where do you weigh in on all this??

Wearing a bandeau bikini top with those ta-tas is a fashion risk. Otherwise she looks good. We all love to scrutinize the celebs' physiques because it makes celebs seem more human like the rest of us. The scrutiny is definitely brutal, but hard for us to resist!

I agree with you, Nelson. Aside from the meanness, I don't understand why an actor's physique is newsworthy at all. If she were a fitness trainer who was advocating some program, check her out to see how she's doing, otherwise what does how she look in a bikini matter? (The magazines "Photoshop" their pictures anyway, so half the time the people in the pictures don't even look like they appear.)

I don't get it: The Olsons are too skinny!! Spears and Hewitt are too fat!! What does the media want? Oh, right. A story - at the expense of fragile esteems.

IF THEY CALL THAT FAT THEN I WANT TO BE FAT!! GOOD ON HER. NO WONDER SO MANY GIRLS/WOMEN HAVE EATING DISORDERS. WISH I COULD WEAR A BIKINI & LOOK THAT GOOD.
