Celebrity Dream Team
Who's a REAL physical force in Hollywood - Nelson weighs in.

Last weekend, I ran my 11th marathon...this time in historic San Francisco.

It got me thinking; We've chatted before about the "best celebrity beach bodies." What about celebs who are actually ATHLETES? I bet you can't name many.

Will Ferrell, P Diddy and Oprah are the famous folks who've all completed a marathon, but I don't know that if were assembling an all-star dream team that you'd choose any of them. I mean, how much butt do you think Harrison Ford, Pierce Brosnan, Tobey MacGuire or any of Charlie's Angeles could kick without stunt people and special effects?

Good old Matthew McConaughey should probably be our team captain. He's definitely the most blatantly athletic movie star. From running and surfing, football and ultimate frisbee, to cycling and yoga, it seems like he spend more time working out than acting. Jake Gyllenhall and Robin Williams log some serious time on their bicycles and, unlike Jude Law, when Ryan Phillippe goes out for a run, he really hauls! I don't know what Ryan Reynolds does for sport, but I think it's safe to say you're better off with him playing for you rather than AGAINST you! Like me, his favourite superhero is The Flash, so I'm betting he's a runner.

As for the ladies, Madonna seems to shame her younger competitors. It's not all horseback riding, pheasant shooting and fencing for Madame Madge. She's a serious physical force to be reckoned with! Just because we see Jessica Simpson and Reese Witherspoon walking in and out of their gyms a lot doesn't mean they're athletic. Ashley Judd and Kristin Davis were both onetime workout clients of mine, so I can tell you how physically fit they both are.

The strongest athletes in all of Hollywood are two actors known primarily from television: David James Elliot and Alexandra Paul. They're both triathletes and she even competed in one the day after her wedding...wearing her veil!

When I was a kid, we had a TV show called "Battle of the Network Stars." It featured actors showing off their athletic prowess, doing everything from relay events to a tug of war. Wouldn't it rock to see America Ferrara show Eva Longoria a thing or two on the wrestling mats!?

I say, since 46 year old George Clooney can whupp 27 year old John Krasinski at basketball, he should produce a new A-list version of the show and let's see what these celebrities are really made of!

Who'd be on YOUR "dream team??"

It's damn time for them to resurrect Battle of the Network Stars. Oh how I loved BOTNS back in the day! How about Peter Krause(from the upcoming Dirty Sexy Money drama) paddling in an inflatabale canoe! MmmMmmMmm!

Definitely P!nk (the singer). She does not have an ounce of fat on her, she may be small but she is pure muscle. She seems to spend a lot of time doing acrobatic stuff.
