It's the sizzling days of summer here in Hollywood and every day we're treated to a fresh batch of paparazzi photos of our favourite stars parading their beautiful, bronzed bods for our admiration and envy.
Are Jessica Alba's jaw-dropping curves and Mark Wahlberg's impossible six pack the results of being blessed with good genes or the payoff from relentless sessions with a high-priced personal trainer? Maybe both!
But what's considered a sexy physique is as cyclical as outwear. If you've ever seen faded soap star Brenda Dickson's 1980's "Welcome to My Home" fashion video (which has been recently enjoying a resurgence of camp-ularity on the web, especially with Deven Green's awe-inspiring redubbed parody), you know that what looks hot at one time definitely does NOT at others. The flat chested, twiggy girls (Lara Flynn Boyle) gave way to busty & bodacious (Jessica Simpson). Mustached, hairy hunks like Tom Selleck and the Hoff look like Borat compared to the lean manscaped likes of Matthew McConaughey and David Beckham.
A couple years ago, I roamed the streets of Beverly Hills (with a camera crew, of course!) and asked "regular" folks which celebrity body parts they most coveted. Although one gal remarked, "Jen Aniston has a nice rack," the most popular answers from women were "Jennifer Aniston's hair" and "Angelina Jolie's lips." Almost every guy wanted "Brad Pitt's abs." Don't they seem like out-of-date choices now? Of course, wanting to end the segment with a punchline, I opted for "Nicole Kidman's forehead" and then headed straight to the esthetician to shoot me up with Botox. Ouch! I'm not afraid to suffer for comedy.
After a spate of unsolicited celebrity crotch shots and wardrobe malfunctions, it's almost refreshing to see stars wearing swimwear that leaves a little something to the imagination. Forty-somethings Pamela Anderson and Demi can still rock a swimsuit, when they hit the beach, but opting out of the "teeny-weenie bikinis" is a smart choice. Jake Gyllenhall looks much better in his board shorts than he would in a Speedo. Now if only someone would tell that to our Governator!
Female: Charlize Theron, Jessica Alba, Kate Bosworth (now that she's got her curves back!), Jessica Biel, Penelope Cruz
Male: Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Jackman, Brad Pitt, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Reynolds

Monica Cruz (penny's sis), and Jennifer Garner (I like how healthy and fit she looks).
For the men let's add: Matt Damon (his "Bourne Body"), Daniel Craig (his "Bond Body") and Christian Bale (his Batman Body) and since he just moved here: David Beckham--who can even rock a speedo!
i'm wondering why people think being sun burnt or tanned makes them healthy, people that think like that need their heads seeing to especially here in NEW ZEALAND & australia what with our high level of skin cancer that thinking is insane. just eating the right foods and exercising makes you fit and healthy.
