How to ...pull off perfect curls
Ethereal ringlets are a hot look this season and are easily achieved. "Begin by using a large-barrelled ceramic tong and alternate the direction you twist each section of hair," says Anthony Nader from RAW Hair in Sydney. "Then, loosen each ringlet with your fingers, rather than using a brush." Finish off with a smoothing cream and fix with a hairspray.

How to ...disguise dirty hair
If your style looks more greasy than glam, try a dry shampoo to absorb that unwanted oil. Made from rice starch to ensure a flawless finish, brush through your locks to keep them looking clean. Alternatively, Nader suggests sprinkling a generous amount of baby powder or cornstarch through your roots to achieve a similar effect. Simply brush it through well and style as usual.

How to ... style smart
If you're a heat-styling fanatic, there are a few ways to ensure your lengths look fresh, not fried. Reduce the risk of damage by spritzing on a barrier spray before you blow-dry to prevent them drying out. For a super-sleek look, Nader advises pointing your hairdryer down your hair shaft, forcing the cuticle to lie flat, rather than blasting it from underneath. Finish with a gloss serum for a smooth style.

How to ... refresh your hue
Why not use a home remedy to keep your colour from fading. "If you're blonde, make some chamomile tea and let it cool," offers Nader. "Rinse through clean locks and leave for five minutes before washing." For dark shades, brew some coffee, let it cool, then pour over your hair and let it go to work for 20 minutes before washing. Otherwise, try an at-home colour gloss treatment.

How to ...boost shine
Adding luminosity to your look starts in the shower, so opt for a conditioner with hydrating properties. Nader also recommends giving your hair a dose of cool water. "A cold rinse promotes a healthy sheen and locks in colour," he says. Finally, rotate your favourite products to ensure the benefits are maximised and opt for a shine spray.

Yes, i have tried coffee mixed with henna on hair.... using it a few times only results in a beautiful natural shade of copper red with plenty of shine and one can therefore avoid chemicals by using natural ingredients such as henna and coffee. It's so amazing...
