The Heroic Lost Ninja

So, wait, the stage manager is behind it all?

Hey, and zOMG - that has to have been THE BEST EPISODE EVER. I'm bestowing that honour upon the episode right here and now - it simply had everything! Richard as a loopy pirate, classroom volcanic experiments and the reappearance of the weird painting of a woman holding a hamster! Oh - and JACOB.

The secret clue is up - and it shows Jacob in the flesh!

I'm putting it out there - I think Jacob and Smokey are one and the same entity, and the ash (volcanic?) around the shack is somehow used to keep Jacob confined inside. Locke stopped and took a good sniff of it, and you know that they wouldn't highlight a moment like that without importance. I'm not exactly sure how yet, but I'm working on it.

Here is a great shot of Jacob's house. Deadset, if I saw that while I was out hiking (ha!) sometime, I would hike the other way quick-smart. What a creepy looking place... I do like, however, how thoughtful Jacob is, having left a latern outside for his visitors to use. Shame that Benry had to go and smash it in the shack. The weird thing was, when he put it back on the shelf outside, it didn't seem to damaged, nor was the fire still burning in the shack... Time issues muchly?

Here is a great, cleaned up shot of Jacob - he's one hairy dude, at least on the face... I dig his style. Hillbilly chic, he makes it work for him. I wonder if he's playing dress-up like the Others were the first two seasons... Probably not. I'm thinking the fact he asked Locke, the Others' n00b most high, for help means he probably doesn't enjoy playing this game...

And here is a game Locke is not going to enjoy playing. Benry, having taken the "If he can't be my friend, he can't be anybody's" approach to the situation, decides to pop a cap in Locke and leave him for dead with the rest of Benry's Kill Count Club. Both in flashback and at this moment, we realized Benry doesn't mind getting his hands a little dirty... Or completely covered in his fathers coughed up blood and mucus! Seriously ladies, this Benry's quite the catch, is he not?!

Mind you, anyone raised by Uncle Rico is sure to grow up, well, screwed. He probably spent most of his Work Man days dreaming of throwing a football over them mountains...

"Welcome to Fantasy Island!" This one shot gave me tingles, and I went bananas over the following scenes... More VW's, Benry's little girlfriend and her Apollo obsession, Horace being a mathematician in the Arrow and another appearance by Dr Marvin Candle! You may have noticed his arm was still out of action - whatever happened to it, it wasn't tied into the Purge... It'd be pretty funny if we eventually learn that he's the reason for the fence, him and him alone...

Check it - Harry Potter in the house! How fitting that, a day after the new film and a week from the new book, Harry Potter  would find a way to worm his way into Lost... You seriously can't escape from the little wizardy snot. You'll notice Benry fell in love with his man purse at a very young age. "Why yes Ben, it's very tough and manly. Now put your dolls away and pay attention; you've the delicate art of genocide to master."

He's also had a thing for bunnies since the very beginning... So did I. I found it kind of odd that he'd be able to get the fence code. Surely they wouldn't want the children running outside and possibly leaving it deactived? Smokey could swirl right into town and do his things, if it even is to keep only Smokey out...

There was just so much that happened in the episode that I'll need a few days for it to sit properly with me, allowing me to come up with my usual crazy theories... I've got some corkers cooking!

Don't forget - there's only two episodes left, and the day after the finale, THIS is the spot you want to be at. You'll be able to catch my exclusive interviews with Dominic (Charlie) and Evangelline (Kate) as well as follow my coverage of the San Diego Comic Con's LOST panel. For those of you who've forgotten, that is the exact spot we first caught sight of Rachel Blake in the flesh...

Who knows what this year's panel will contain? The hot rumour is the unveiling of a LOST video game and (finally) some footage from the mobisodes, as well as being the first time the producers have discussed the finale since it happened. Hot stuff, folks, and I'm going to be right in the thick of it!

Namaste
