Hey, and OMG what an absolutely awesome ep! Answers, new mysteries, a piratey-lookin guy and Marvin Candle all add up to good times - what, does your calculator tell you something different? Pfft - any chance its been affected by a strange purple light of late?
Go check out the secret clue before we kick off - I'm so glad that conversation was translated, I had no idea what was being said...

o what did we learn in Sayid's flashback? Well, not a lot. He was hiding out in a cafe in Paris, working as a chef under the name Najeev. A woman who was supposedly a former victim of his torturing techniques orchestrated his captured, and then proceeded to have him worked over until he finally cracked and admitted to torturing her. I wasn't sold on his guilty status, but I guess you'll say anything to no longer be chained up in the backroom of a dodgy Parisian restaurant. I would own up to having tortured
Mr Squiggle if it got me off the hook.

Sayid found a farm with a cow, moo! He didn't even seem to care, he was far too excited by the satellite dish, which ended up being busted... Having been on the island as long as they have, I'd at least stop for milk. However, that is not Sayid's style - his style is to walk in without a gun and get shot.

And then we met Patchy! For a guy with one eye, he's rather handy with a rifle. He also has the
worst secret keeping skills in history. His name is
Mikhail Bakunin, referencing another philosopher who was a big fan of anarchy, though to me he will always be Patchy. Here's a list of the stuff I noticed him let slip:
The Dish hasn't worked in years
This is the Flame station, communications hub for the island
Underground cables lead to all the other stations
One of these is the cable on the beach
There is a sonar beacon for bringing in subs(!)
The purple light seems to have screwed them all
He worked at a listening post pre-island
Joined Dharma voluntarily (I'm callin LIE!)
Has been on-island since 1993
There was a purge, started by the Dharma
Dharma were completely wiped out in this event (I'm calling TRUTH!)

I'm glad Sayid has a clear enough head not to kill Patchy, as we learnt more from this one guy than, well, everything found in the Swan! The scene where he admitted to Sayid that both parties were aware of the ruse was chilling, I absolutely loved it and it was definitely one of my favourite scenes from any season.

And guess who was hiding in the basement? For some time now, we've been wondering what happened to Ms Klugh.... she's was hanging out with Patchy! And by hanging out, I mean sent to check whats up, presumably due to the purple light knocking out all the communications... After attacking and losing Kate, she spent approximately 2 minutes above-ground before ordering Mikhail to execute her. We knew the Others were secretive, but this is a whole new length...

Sayid has a map! You know this is going to come into play in a big way. I'm happy he now has something tangible to rely on - Locke's bearing seemed to be really getting under
Sayid the Science Guy's skin...

How awesome was the Marvin Candle hosted film on the computer! It seems Locke knows a way to unlock all the secrets a computer has - though someone really needs to get him away from them, as he's blown up two in a matter of weeks. It was interesting to note the first option was for a pallet drop, leading us to question as to whether a similar menu came up for Ben/Henry Gale when he assisted during the lockdown in the Swan, seeing as he obviously did enter the numbers. Shame that the sonar is down, though I doubt a little technical problem can stop our fearless Iraqi communications officer!

Surely the fact the word "hostiles" should have been enough for Locke to think twice, but that's not his style. He blows things up, which is why he gets no love. Has he ruined everything? I sure as heck hope not - I'm sure we'll get answers to that question soon. We'd better.
And speaking of answers - did Heroes have the worst timed cliffhanger in history last night? Niki is going after Nathan now? OMG! Watch out, flyboy, coz she'll tear you a new one - literally!
Namaste
