The Heroic Lost Ninja

Are You Waiting For Further Instructions?

Hey, and wow what an ep! Locke eps are always brilliant, and this week's was no different. Can you say - lifelong sucker? Man, wise up! Before I kick off proper, I need to let you know something serious - last Friday, on my way home, I was attacked by deadly ninja monkeys. We battled the whole way home, for several hours, until they cunningly found a way to disable my internet AND sprain my wrist badly.

So, folks, if you're ever walking home and think you see something ninja-ish following you, ensure that they are walking on two feet only, be afraid. Ninja monkeys are badass. So I'm PP (publicly-posting) at the moment, and quite frankly, I don't like it. The situation will be fixed shortly, and I'll be back in full swing, Messenger and all :) Thanks for all your messages of concern! Don't forget to check out this week's secret clue video and analysis!

I LOVED the opening of the episode, and the way it copied Jack waking up in the pilot so perfectly. It really hammered home the fact that, with Jack gone, Locke is going to have to step up and lead the Losties. Considering how easily he follows what he believes, is this really a good thing? Would you want a guy who believes the island demanded a sacrifice leading you?

Especially a guy who thinks it's a good idea to eat a bunch of wacky paste and hallucinating a vision? The vision was awesome, in terms of summing up where each character is or telegraphing where they are headed, and also because I visited where they filmed the scene ;) Charlie, Claire and Aaron were a happy family, while Sayid was diffusing the situation between Sun and Jin. Kate and Sawyer were holidaying together (cute touch) while Jack was being searched and shooked up by Benry. The two roles that had me the most interested were Desmond - apparently "helping himself" as the pilot - and Hurley as the ticket collector. Why they were in official positions, I have no idea, but I loved it nonetheless. Poor Boone... And did you notice the noise made while Locke crawled up the escalator? It was the exact same as the sound made by the black smoke that dragged him into a hole during the season one finale...

Did you notice Eddie's shirt? Turns out he's into Geronimo Jackson too! Those of you who helped me hunt the truth last year are sure to remember how many times they've popped up through the Lost universe... Very cool to see another reference to them, especially since Mike and Jan seemed to act like they might know all about GJ....

And did you notice how much Mike looks like Tom aka Mr Friendly, spokesman for the Others? Pure coincidence, or something more? You never know...

It would appear that we met some new survivors tonight - or should I say, old survivors that we've never noticed before? Either way, meet our two new survivors, Nikki....

And Paulo. How can we not have noticed these INCREDIBLY good looking people before? I mean, c'mon. I've highlighted barcodes, spotted doves, disassembled whispered audio - yet I NEVER noticed them? Sheesh!

I looked up the Bible passage seen on Eko's stick - Romans 6:12 - and learned some cool stuff. Check out what wikipedia has to say about the concept of Internal Sin....

I also managed to grab a great shot of the skull in the polar bear cave. I really think they might be on to something with the theory that it's Radinsky - check out the massive hole in his forehead. We already know that Kelvin was a disgusting liar, and hetold Des that Radinsky (R) had painted the map. We'd always assumed he knew the layout of the island from previous experience, but how's this for a theory - what if Radinsky had be ducking off to the Pearl hatch, observing and taking notes regarding the other hatches, and Kelvin busted him in the process? I see a few possibilities - R really did off himself, but Kelvin did a rubbish job with the burial and the polar bear dug up his body. Kelvin busted R spying on "the hostiles" and flipped, killed him and left his body outside, later taken by the bear. Or Kelvin just killed him and gave him to the bear. Take your pick - the bear got fed either way...

And finally - what the hell is going on with Des? He can see the future? WTF?!?!? I'm not going to go too in-depth on this theory just yet, because I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but Desmond seems to have experienced what many nerds refer to as "the superhero origin story". Could turning the key have given him some crazy premonition powers that he isn't aware of how to control? For a little more credence to my theory here, I'm going to direct you to the most celebrated graphic novel in history, the almighty Watchmen. In it, the only superpowered hero is Dr Manhattan, a normal scientist displaced from time by a physics experiment gone wrong who now experiences past, present and future simultaneously... And before you dismiss the theory, you should be aware that the villain is working to save the world from an equation predicting our doom - sound familiar?

How brilliant was last night's Heroes? Hiro's message from the future looks like it will definitely be making it's way to present Hiro via Peter and Isaac, and Hiro met Nathan in an Las Vegas diner - it seems our enthusiastic time-travelling nerd is the glue bring our heroes together... I hope Matt will be ok, after over-using his min-reading talents. And why is Nikki so afraid of D.L., her ex-husband? That final shot, with him in her house, was chilling... I'm loving this show soooo much!

Folks, as lame as this is, I can't type anymore for fear of my hand falling off at the wrist. Damn ninja monkeys! As soon as I'm back in fighting shape, though... they'd better start running NOW!

Namaste
