Hey, and welcome to the super-awesome maxxed out bumper round digest known as the All Smokey Edition! Last night's episode was a ripper, and we had some great smokey action, so I thought I'd devote this post to looking a little deeper.
So, you may have noticed that Smokey didn't attack the girls until Kate actually harmed Juliet. The second it started raining (which Juliet predicted a full minute before it broke) I knew something bad was about to happen - rain = bad times on the island. However, if you listen closely, no roar is heard from Smokey until right after Juliet howls in pain.Now, that may not seem so important, but when you couple it with the craziness that went down when Smokey flashed Juliet four times, it offers an interesting theory. When Locke saw the monster, he claimed to have seen a beautiful white light, while Eko saw the black smoke. Smokey killed Eko, while it seems to have taken a liking to Locke - who also predicted rainfall once. Could Juliet have some unspoken connection with the island we've not learned yet?
If you've not seen it yet, I recommend you check out this week's secret clue, as you'll see the fact that Smokey forms from three distinct smoke plumes before attacking the sonic barrier. The thoughts on Cerberus are interesting - I've long suspected this might be the case, and its wonderful to find some supporting evidence! The blast map's CV, imho, are definitely Cerberus Vents, and thats how Smokey gets about the island.
Here's my theory regarding the fence where Juliet entered 15-16-23 to enable it. As we well know, the numbers make up the Valenzetti equation that predicts mankind's fall from grace. Isn't it possible that Smokey's role is to ensure those numbers don't change, and by using them against it, you're essentially cancelling magnet with another? What do you think?
