How do you know if a guy digs you?

Dear Nate, how do you know if a guy digs you? Unsure, WA.

A guy digs you if he's following you around with a shovel. Just kidding. If he is following you around with a shovel, run. There are, however, many subtle hints that we oafish, traditionally emotionless gorillas display when we have taken a fancy to a lady.

These love indicators can take several forms. You may catch a man's eyes focused on you in a lurving gaze, followed by a shy smile. He may start hugging you more than usual. Even simple, lingering kisses on the cheek are an indicator that he's got the hots for your sweet thang.

Maybe he's sending you texts with a cute little "xoxo" on the end of them. He could be paying you extra Myspace attention (see my myspace translator). You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to pick up on these clues.

However, if he starts appearing in the bushes out the front of your house at night, or he starts calling your house and doesn't say anything, just breaths heavily, this means he really, really likes you. He likes you so much that he has probably built a shrine to you with candid photos he took with a zoom lens and kisses them before he goes to sleep at night.

If a guy likes you this much, you need to get a restraining order against him. You should probably install some extra door locks too. But everything less intense than this is just innocent and adoring affection. Enjoy it.
