"IT" BOYS: The Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers are the next big thing! Hailing from New Jersey, the band is made up of three talented (and very attractive) brothers, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas (yep, we thought of Hanson too - but they are nothing like them musically.) The boys have just released their highly anticipated self-titled second album, "The Jonas Brothers", which debuted high up in the US charts.

The thought of being with your little brothers 24/7 may give you the shivers, but it obviously works for these guys. Kevin, the oldest, says they rarely fight, and the big reason behind their success is that "because we're brothers, we just know how to work together."

Here's how they got started: Nicholas Jonas, the youngest of the three bros, started performing in professional Broadway musicals and writing music when he was just 7 years old (um, talent!) Several years down the track, he was signed up to Columbia Records as a solo artist. But when Columbia president Steve Greenberg heard the song, "Please Be Mine," written and performed by all three brothers, he decided to sign the boys as a group act.

2005 was the year The Jonas Brothers started getting noticed - their career seriously took off from there. They toured as the supporting act for Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, the Backstreet Boys and our girls The Veronicas in 2006. They released their first album "It's About Time", appeared on "Hanna Montana" and performed songs for the "Meet the Robinsons" soundtrack. Phew! That's a busy schedule.

So what do they sound like? The brothers say they have a thousand influences - everything from My Chemical Romance to the Backstreet Boys to The Ramones. Nick loves to sing R&B, Joe loves a song with a dance beat and Kevin is obsessed with guitar solos. They say their new album has something for everyone - with elements of reggae, rock, dance, pop, punk, funk and a teensy touch of musical theatre.
