Gwyneth pooh-pooh's drinkers

Mar 27 09:36am

Showing that she has taken really well to the 'stiff upper lip' of the British, Gwyneth has announced that she thinks it is "inappropriate" for women to get drunk.

The 34-year-old actress is known for her extreme willpower, abstaining nearly completely from alcohol and following a vegan macrobiotic diet. Her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, is a teetotaller as well, surely meaning that the Paltrow-Martin household is very, very civilised.

Gwyneth said: "I think it's gross! I really don't like drunk women, it's such a bad look. I think it's completely inappropriate."

But just last month, when Gwyneth spoke of her well-connected friends, she said "I have friends like Stella McCartney or Madonna, and very often our children get together to play. Although we usually leave them in bed and stay to drink a glass of wine!"

Having a glass of wine doesn't mean getting drunk.
So before you 'tut tut' Gwyneth, have a think.....

Thats her outlook on women who drink. Not all of them fall get drunk, some just enjoy a few glasses with good friends and thats it. I believe in having a drinks with my friends (ladies and men) and I enjoy it too. Life is too short to point fingers at others and judge. I say enjoy everyday as it comes.

there is a difference between drinking and getting drunk, and I think Gwyneth is on the money here. I don't mind a glass or two of wine, but I've seen some women who make absolutely idiots of themselves from drinking. Like drinking to the point they fall through coffee tables, or so drunk that they cant walk then make all their male friends carry them home or down stairs. I know one old friend who did it at every social gathering we had (I dont think there was one party I had that she didnt p

each to their own I say, who cares what Gwyneth thinks quite frankly. some do make fools and complete idiots and tarts out of themselves, some dont. what makes Gwynni so perfect????
no one is perfect

To some extent, I also agree that women should hold themselfs up and decide how they like to be.. ie. Happy with a couple of drinks or a mindless drunk. On the other hand I do not agree on judging others and binge drinking is bad no matter who it is and if people choose to binge drink there is nothing we can do about it. This country thrives on it and at the end of the day Johhny dosent care about the effects this has on the younger generation!! So it is up to YOU to decide on how you want y

Sure, there's a tendency to binge drink but it's men as well as women. Just because G is famous, it doesn't give her the right to preach to the world. She's vegan by her choice - let everyone else have their choice about drinking.

Funny that - she made some Campari adds in Italy which featured Gwyneth and friends stealing oranges from a farmer to make their drinks. The end of the ad was Gwyneth saying "Campari, il mio Campari"!
