Decorate a plain blind

Dec 01 02:14pm
Add a touch of individual style to any holland blind
with a tassel or button pull.

Button and ring pull

Coils of gold cord turn a plain button into a fine foil for the checks on this blind. It's just the ticket when you don't want something too fussy.

Materials
Holland blind
Brass ring pull
Large button, diameter 5.5 cm
Thin gold cord
Craft glue
Hot glue gun

Method
1. Carefully glue the cord to the button in a spiral pattern, beginning at the centre of the button and continuing down the sides.
2. Cut a piece of cord and glue it to the top half of the cord-covered button in a half-daisy pattern, tucking the end under for a neat finish.
3. Using the hot glue gun, glue the brass pull to the lower half of the button.

4. Find the centre of the bottom slat and, again using the hot glue gun, attach the button to the blind. Or place it on a tuck near the base, as shown here.

Tassel pull

Attach a brass ring with hot glue to your blind and loop the suspension cord of a pretty tassel in place.
