Lavender hearts

Nov 27 10:01am
Place these heart-shaped lavender sachets in your linen press or wardrobe, or leave one on your pillow to promote a soothing night's sleep.

Heart template

Gather your supplies:
Felt rectangles; scraps of floral print fabric; firm iron-on interfacing; buttons; stranded embroidery cotton; embroidery needle; dried lavender.

Here's how:
1. Trace the heart outline (see link above) onto paper and cut out for a pattern.

2. Press interfacing to the wrong side of a floral print. For each sachet, cut one heart shape from felt and one from interfaced print

3. Stitch three small buttons to the front of one of the hearts. With wrong sides facing, stitch the hearts together around the edge, working blanket stitch, with three strands of embroidery cotton. Leave a small gap in one straight edge for filling.

4. Fill sachet with dried lavender, then finish stitching the edges together.
