Tip 1: Keep the silhouette balanced. If you have a full skirt wear a top that is fitted. Similarly, baggy tops need narrow pencil skirts or pants.
Tip 2: Keep to three colours on the body. More than three is too tricky to pull off.
Tip 3: Table top dressing: Keep the focus on the top of the body (from the table top up). Don't wear bright floral trousers or anything that focuses on your legs. Go for basic black pants and skirts and then add interest with tops and jackets.
Tip 4: High waisted skirts and pants are flattering. They tuck the tummy in and give the illusion of long legs (yes please!) Hipsters give most of us short legs and long bodies.
Tip 5: A waist cinching belt will give you shape and the illusion you are curvy
Tip 6: Stick to knee length skirts. The most flattering length is where the leg goes in at the knee.
Tip 7: Forget the rules of colour. Navy and black is chic!
Tip 8: Use bags and shoes to add colour. Don't worry about matching shoes and bags. BUT if you must wear a black shoe, look for texture (e.g. shine, suede)
Tip 9: Keep the focus on one piece of jewellery. No fighting for attention: so just one necklace or statement earrings or lots of bangles, but not all...the eye gets confused and it looks over done!
Tip 10: White next to the face takes 10 years off! Wear a white Tee or a white shirt to look younger.
